I am approximately 90ish percent done with the Big Marie S. Besides deck detail I also need to add lights and wiring to the pilot house, and slip the propeller shaft in. For now I am taking a break from the Big Marie S and I started work on the Bronco Type XXIII German Coastal Submarine. I hope to have this submarine in running condition for the September Subex at the New London Submarine Base, also know as Groton. You can see the build progress under the menu ‘Other Models’ above.

My web site is a work in progress. I have lots of material I will be posting which takes time to organize and write content. Some of the selections in the menus above are blank, but I will get there adding content. Life can be busy so between life and my current modeling projects, things may move slowly so I may not update the web site that frequently. And I’d rathe be in the shop building a boat more than updting this web site. And I also am getting use to using WordPress which is new to me.

Latest update is June 11th 2025.

This web site is basically a blog about building the models that I have built or will be building and some other things I’ve done. If you want advice from me on how to do something, that is not something I will be doing. If you’re looking for advice, join a forum like RCGroups. There’s plenty of great information there. If you want to contact me click the mail icon in the header or scroll down to the footer and click ‘Contact Ken’

On September 7th & 8th 2019 a bunch of us model submariners sailed our models at North Lake which is on the Naval Submarine Base New London in Connecticut. The water is usually pretty clear. Besides plenty of model submarines, there were also surface craft. We even had a night sail. I only caught my Marlin at the night sail. Check out the video of the event.

Do you have a passion for anything? Do you play an instrument? Collect Stamps? Paint? Photography? My passion is building radio control model boats. This hobby requires many skills and there’s nothing more satisfying than building something from nothing (or a kit), seeing the model run in the lake and receiving wonderful comments about your creation. I started building models in my early teens. See the About me page for a bit of a bio about my life with boats and model building.
